advanced land navigation course #1


Our Advanced Land Navigation Course #1 is designed for the serious outdoorsman. This is a 2-day course, consisting of: I full day in the classroom and 1 day of outdoor movement during the daytime.

In our Advanced Land Navigation #1 daytime course, students will learn everything our Basic Land Navigation course teaches you but will include much more. Along with the basics of map and compass reading, establishing your azimuth and pace count and learning how to measure linear and non-linear distances of travel, you will be introduced to the protractor, reading and plotting grid coordinates on a map, dead reckoning and intersection / resection and more…

For our Land Navigation course, you will go to the “Land Navigation” folder. There are a number of items listed in the folder but keep in mind, not all of these items are a “MUST HAVE” and therefore SHOULD NOT be considered mandatory. We do not require specific brands of gear. The gear listed is gear we have personally tested and vouch for and currently use.
